Night Outings

This school holiday, we managed to bring the kids to a new landmark in Melaka - The Tamingsari Tower. The rotating tower is named after the famous keris of Hang Tuah, Melaka legendary warrior. The 7 minutes ride was quite enjoyable as we got to see Melaka at night.I guess a night ride is better that the day ride as we got to see the lights as well. Then we brought the kids back to Eye on Melaka. This is our second visit there, mainly to take pictures at different and nicer angles. On the first visit, the Kids got the chance to try all the rides there. We are yet to take the river cruise, maybe on other night outing. We also brought the kids to see the Aliens Show at MITC. The kids had a wonderful time, tryng out things and reading about aliens. Too bad taking pictures is not allowed inside so there're only photos at the entrance.I hope my boys had fun this holiday as school is opening in two weeks time.

Terengganu: 4 & 5th December 2008

On the second day, we visited Islamic Edutainment Park ( Taman Tamadun Islam) where the famous crystal mosque is located. The architechture is superb and we had the opportunity to talk to a few students who were attending a tahfiz course ( a course conducted during the school holidays for students ) I think it is a very good programme and I think this should be followed by other mosques at other states as well. Then we visited the park where there are 21 replicas of famous islamic landmarks from all around the world are situated. We also had the chance to board the unique town bus of Terengganu. The best part was the service is free! Then we visited our relatives and the next day was the long journey back to Melaka. We had been blessed with good weather despite the monsoon season and the flood. We were lucky not to 'stumble' upon any bad weather or even flood despite passing through some of the badly affected places like Kampong Tok Jiring. A short stop at Kemaman to buy 'kerepok lekor ' and the chance to eat 'Sata' was also an unforgetable memory to cherish. We arrived at Melaka around 10 pm and we thank god for the save journey.

Kelantan & Terengganu: 3 Dec 2008

Third day - 3rd December 2008

In the morning, I went to Pasar MPKB to find silk batiks and matching scarfs for my sisters. It was difficult as there were so many to choose from. Finally, I managed to make up my mind and bought 2 for my sisters. My dear hubby bought me one that he likes so much. Thank you love! After another round of headache searhing for matching scarfs, we headed back to the apartment and checked out. The long journey to Terengganu began with many stops. One of them at Bandar Permaisuri for lunch, which I thought was atotal ripped off. We reached Kuala Terengganu around 3 pm and checked in.Since the room is facing Dataran Syahbandar, we decided to check the place out. We just in time for the Monsoon Cup and the kids got to see Hattan rehearsing for the concert. At night brought the kids to see the Monsoon Cup concert by the AF stars, Hattan and Amy Search.

Kelantan Darul Naim: 1-3 Dec 2008

Second Day - 2nd December 2008

From the 12th floor, we had a very clear view of Kelantan River. It had indeed risen and that made me quite worry but the weather was bright and sunny. Since Rantau Panjang was closed to all vehicles, we decided to go to Pengkalan Kubor( duty free area) after a light breakfast.By the way the kids felt at home at the 3 rooms apartment. It was spacious and the view was nice.I bought some things for my sisters and mom since I had done my shopping less than a month ago. Hafiz and Angah got their Manchester United and Chelsea t - shirts and Hazim got another Ben 10 toy. On the way back, we stopped at one of the Buddist temples and the kids got to see a huge statue of Buddha and monks. We headed back to Kota Bharu as it started drizzling. We managed to see houses and village affected in the flood but the road was passable. After a nice lunch of Nasi Kukus Ayam at Jalan Pin Pong, we visited Istana Jahar, Istana Balai Besar, Bank Pitih and of course Pasar Siti Khadijah where my hubby bought a songket samping for himself. At night,we had lunch at Wakaf Che Yeh but decided not to go to the nighr market as the kids would be bored so we drove around Kota Bharu instead.

Kelantan Darul Naim: 1-3 Dec 2008

First Day - 1st December 2008

We decided to go ahead with the plan to Kelantan although the flood was getting worst. We took the East - West Highway passing by Grik - the town and the road had improved tremendously since I last visited it more than 10 years ago, making the trip much more enjoyable. We were awed by the spectacular view of the man made lake - Tasik Banding. Angah was feeling under the weather but Hanif was already up and about considering he had a fever afew days before. When we entered Kelantan via Jeli, the worst hit area, it started raining and it was so foggy that I was reminded of San Francisco during Fall season. In fact, it continued to rain the whole night. We decided to just stay in the apartment after dinner. The plan to Wakaf Che Yeh had to be cancelled but we got the much needed rest after such a long journey.

Port Dickson: 25-28 November 2008

BubbleShare: Share photos - Play some Online Games.

The stay at Seri Malaysia Port Dickson was more a relaxing trip for me and the kids especially since we did nothing but lazying around. The kids enjoyed swimming at the swimming pool every morning and I got the chance to catch up on reading and enjoying the sun. In the afternoon, we strolled down the beach. Hanif was so excited to find the many shells on the beach while Hafiz, Angah and Haziq got down and dirty. We slept late, enjoyed the food and each others' company while my husband was busy coordinating a programme there.Hafiz and Angah got the chance to learn about Port Dickson by reading the history of it at the hotel's lobby. We also watched the sun went down at Telok Kemang on the last night there.
